Aiden Markram fined for slow overrate in ODI
JOHANNESBURG : Stand-in South Africa skipper Aiden Markram was fined 20 percent of his match fee while the rest of the players were fined 10 percent for maintaining a slow over-rate during the team’s five-wicket win against India in Johannesburg on Saturday. ICC match referee Andy Pycroft imposed the fine after Markram’s side was ruled to be one over short of their target, when time allowances were taken into consideration. Markram and his teammates were guilty of breaching Article 2.5.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Players Support Personnel, which relates to minor over-rate offences. The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Aleem Dar and Bongani Jele, third umpire Ian Gould, and fourth umpire Shaun George.
