CHANDIGARH : The Congress and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Monday launched a joint offensive against the Manohar Lal Khattar government’s move to defer the reply of two contentious questions.

While Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Kiran Choudhry had asked a question regarding “lack of basic amenities in the Nandishala Foundation Centres” across Haryana, the INLD’s Ranbir Gangwa (Nalwa MLA) had asked if the government was giving reservation to SC, BC and ex-servicemen while recruiting through outsourcing.

The Congress leader had sought the answer from development and panchayats minister Om Prakash Dhankar, the INLD legislator’s question was addressed to chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Speaker Kanwar Pal said the reply was not ready and that he had followed the procedure while deferring the reply to the questions. The Congress lodged a strong protest. The trouble began when the question of the INLD member was also postponed. Both the INLD and the Congress slammed the government for escaping from giving answer. Din prevailed in the House with INLD and Congress resorted to slogan shouting and in turn the Treasury benches also responded.

Dhankar, from whom Choudhry had sought the reply, told the House that his department had not opened any Nandishala in the state and that the question was wrongly addressed to his

ministry.

In a bid to break the logjam, Speaker said that he was directing the minister to furnish reply in a week. “The reply of which question you are asking me to give?” Dhankar asked Speaker in Hindi. “I do not deal with the issue to which your question is related,” Dhankar told the CLP leader who was persistent with her demand.

Now, the INLD-led by Abhay Chautala began raising slogans. The CM said the information was being collected regarding the INLD question. He said the ambit of the question was huge and that information was being collected question 51 departments and 22 deputy commissioners.
