INLD HAS ENTERED INTO ALLIANCE WITH THE BSP FOR LOK SABHA AND ASSEMBLY POLLS IN HARYANA

CHANDIGARH: Leader of opposition in Haryana assembly Abhay Singh Chautala on Tuesday projected Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati as leader of the third front to take on the ruling BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“The BJP came to power at the Centre in 2014 due to the absence of a credible alternative. However, this is going to change as there would be a choice in the form of the third front under the leadership of BSP supremo Mayawati,” the INLD leader said in a statement.

The INLD has entered into an alliance with the BSP for the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly polls in Haryana.

Chautala, who addressing a rally at Jind as part of the ‘Jail Bharo’ agitation jointly launched by the INLD and the BSP, said that Jind will once again herald change in the state and the country.

He accused the previous Congress government of trying to destroy the INLD by allegedly framing cases against its leadership.

“The present agitation has been launched to pressurise the Union government to complete the construction of the SYL canal in accordance with the directions of the Supreme Court,’’ he said.

Chautala also accused the BJP government of exploiting the farmers and making false promises. “If the INLD-BSP alliance is voted to power, the new government will not only waive farm loans but also implement the report of Swaminathan Commission regarding fixation of minimum support price.”

He also promised that one member of every family in the state will be given government employment and Rs five lakh will be given on the occasion of the marriage of a daughter from a poor family.

Chautala also announced that old age pension would be enhanced to Rs 2500 per month.
