AMRITSAR: Akal Takht acting jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh on Friday asked the Punjab government to redress grievances of Sikh prisoners who are sitting on hunger strike at the Maximum Security Jail in Nabha.

Giani Harpreet Singh said that Sikh prisoners are being harassed by jail authorities, which is wrong.

“They are sitting on hunger strike since June 30 and their grievances are not being redressed. This is unfortunate. Government should take note of this,” he added.

Giani Harpreet Singh warned the state that it will be responsible if anything unfavourable
