ENFORCE LAWS TO SAVE BRIDES

This is with reference to the news report, ‘Kabaddi player’s wife ends life, leaves note, 2 hr video message,’ (HT, Oct 19). The demon of dowry is alive and incidents of violence against brides are still common. The tragedy is that mostly mothers-in-law and sistersin-law of the victims abet such devilish attitudes. There is need to enforce the laws strictly to mitigate such heinous crimes perpetrated by the women on the women. HARDISH KAUR SANDHU, AMRITSAR
