WOO THE KASHMIRI YOUTH
Kashmir is on the boil. Lt General JS Sandhu, Commander of 15 Corps, has called the security situation in the Valley ‘fragile’. No doubt, ‘hate India’ campaign has been the life-breath of successive governments in Pakistan. However, the separatists in Kashmir are also responsible for this volatile situation. They have been enjoying five-star facilities for decades, while the common people live in abject poverty. The radicals are using the gullible youth as pawns for their nefarious designs. They provoke them in the name of ‘azaadi’ and pay them to throw stones at CRPF jawans and armed forces. The challenge before the government is to wean the youth away from the radicals by giving them jobs and bringing them into the mainstream. Better late than never.
