Sanitation workers continue strike

The safai workers on Tuesday placed carcass of a dog outside the office of the local civic body in protest regarding the recruitmen­t of 328 sanitation workers. The protesters demanded that the number of councilors in the committee formed to take interviews of the applicants should be decreased from 13 to four. The safai workers had been observing strike since Monday. “Not all committee members will be present during interviews as interviews of 4,700 applicants is to be conducted, said MC mayor.HTC
