Ahead of AIJASS rally, Jat leaders say will expose Malik
before the All India Jat Arakshan Sanghars Samiti (AIJASS)’s state-level rally, jat leaders are a divided lot with some of them accusing the body’s president Yashpal Malik of diverting attention from quota reservation issue by setting up a training institute at Rohtak district’s Jasia village.
Sube Singh Samain, who heads a rival faction of Malik’s AIJASS, accused the latter of adjusting crores of rupees collected from the donors during the agitation in the name of a training institute for Jat youths.
“Earlier, he collected money in the name Jat Global Mission and now he has formed Jat Seva Sangh and set up an institute to diverting funds collected for the quota agitation,” Samain claimed.
Samain said he was holding meetings in the state to expose Malik and now community members have come to know about his real face that how he was befooling them to earn crores of rupees. We have decided to hold a state-level rally at Kaithal district’s Kalayat on December 17 to expose Malik and unite Jats for the fight for reservation,” he added.
Another Jat leader Hawa Singh Sangwan also accused Malik of befooling Jats by setting up the institute.
He said that even the representatives of the Jasia village panchayat were against setting up of the institute.
The Jat leaders slammed Malik for dividing people by holding a rally at Jasia whereas a rally of the OBC (Other Backward Classes) community under BJP Member of
Parliament Rajkumar Saini was scheduled on the same day in Jind.
Malik refuted the allegations, saying, “Those who are opposing setting up of the institute were never part of the Jat agitation. They are playing in the hands of the government to suppress the movement. We have compensated all the victims’ families as per criteria. We cannot give them compensation as they wish.”
“Also the fight for reservation will continue and we will hold a meeting in the first week of December and issue a deadline to the government. We want concrete action and fast,” he said.
On allegations of misuse of funds collected from the donors, he said, “We have already given details of collection and expenditure at the district level. We purchased 16 acres of land for the institute. Everything was done with transparency.”
