KAR­NAL : On his visit to take stock of prepa­ra­tions for BJP na­tional pres­i­dent Amit Shah’s rally in Jind, Haryana chief min­is­ter Manohar Lal Khat­tar rode a bike along with his sup­port­ers as a re­hearsal

How­ever, the CM rode a bike that had no reg­is­tra­tion num­ber on the num­ber plate, vi­o­lat­ing rules of the Mo­tor Ve­hi­cle Act that are pun­ish­able with a fine.

Even the sup­port­ers who fol­lowed the CM did not wear hel­mets.

The pic­tures of CM vi­o­lat­ing rules went vi­ral on so­cial me­dia by Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon, with many crit­i­cis­ing him for set­ting a bad ex­am­ple.

Sev­eral re­hearsal ral­lies car­ried out in Jind and Ro­htak also saw bik­ers rid­ing with­out hel­mets with no one to keep a check.

On be­ing asked about op­po­si­tion par­ties’ protest against the rally, Khat­tar said, “Great plea­sures in life come when we over­come the hard­est of chal­lenges,” he said.
