We are proud of Salman: Sohail
Sohail also says that as a filmmaker he has learnt from the failure of his last film Freaky Ali
Actor-filmmaker Sohail Khan (above) finds his brother, actor Salman Khan, extremely hard-working.
“My father (Salim Khan) says that in India and the world there can only be one Salman Khan. We’re proud of him. He’s hardworking and we wish that he continues his good run throughout,” says Sohail.
The filmmaker nowadays is in an introspective mode. Freaky Ali, his last project as a director, didn’t do well and according to Sohail, he is figuring out the reason behind the failure.
“Freaky Ali’s failure was a learning.”
“As makers, we thrive for good and hit films,” he added.
“A hit film is a good film and a flop film is a bad film. Like success, we must accept our failures too. You make a film for the audience and if they haven’t then something must have gone wrong. Honestly, I’ve lacked in Freaky Ali and I’m trying to correct the mistakes in my next projects,” he says.
Praising actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who played the lead in the film, Sohail adds, “But I must confess that I had a wonderful time working with Nawaz. He’s a fabulous actor who knows what is required out of him. I’d love to work with him again.”
Meanwhile, Sohail has finished shooting his next film starring Salman and is busy scripting two films.
Ask him about the current trend of biopics, he says, he’d love to do it and adds, “Biopics aren’t easy. You need to get into the skin of the character to avoid mistakes.”
