It’s bold and it’s glamorous, but it’s tricky. Yet gold is ruling the roost in Indian and international fashion circles. From designers to celebrities — most fashion influencers have been cast under the spell of gold and have been seen stepping out wearing its various avatars. As a result, several red carpets and other major events have witnessed a deluge of gold dresses, accessories and elements of late. “Gold has always been associated with prestige. The trend of sporting gold outfits is growing by the day. It is classy and chic, and effortlessly creates an effective style statement,” says designer Sayantan Sarkar.

Gold represents hope, and in the political and cultural mayhem around the globe, dressing up in gold reflects positive optimism, believes designer Mayyur Girotra. “People no longer need special occasions or festivals to dress up special. They are churning out metallic shiny wardrobes to celebrate small moments of their life. Thus, gold is the best way to have that sparkle beyond the festive season,” he adds.

Designer Amit GT, who used the colour gold for metallic belts in his new collection, says this trend is likely to last for a while. “This season, gold is primarily being used in embroideries and in accessories,” he adds, revealing that while it complements almost all silhouettes, gold used in blouses is easier to wear and injects cheer in the overall look.

If you are still confused about ways to adopt this trend, these celebs show you exactly how to go about it with ease and confidence.
