STAR WARS: EPISODE IX POSTPONED
The film, earlier scheduled for a May 2019 release, will now hit theatres by the end of the same year
The release date of Star Wars: Episode IX has been pushed back to December 20, 2019 from May 2019, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The development comes after JJ Abrams came on board, replacing Colin Trevorrow, as the director of the film in the Star Wars film franchise.
Abrams will also pen the script of the film, along with Chris Terrio. Earlier, rumours were rife that Rian Johnson will direct the ninth installment. Jonhson, however, dismissed the reports, saying, “It was never in the plan for me to direct Episode IX, so I don’t know what’s going to happen with it”.
The eight chapter of the franchise releases in December.
JJ Abram who directed the seventh chapter of Star Wars franchise, will be back for the ninth chapter
