Anushka has an embroidered job!
After her much-talkedabout wedding – with India captain, Virat Kohli – last year, Anushka Sharma is officially back to work. And the first film that she has started with is Sharat Katariya’s Sui Dhaaga that will see her team up with Varun Dhawan for the first time.
We have come to know – besides getting hold of an exclusive picture – that Anushka has started prepping for the film with “extensive workshops to learn the craft of embroidery”. “Yes, in her new film, she will be seen transforming herself to play the role of a self-reliant embroiderer and for that, she has already started workshops to perfect her character before she starts filming,” says an insider.
While Anushka couldn’t be reached for a comment, Sharat says he was surprised to see “how quickly Anushka picked up the craft of embroidery”. The director, known for helming Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), says: “When I saw stuff she has embroidered, I thought someone has helped her. Later I found out that her preparation is not just limited to the workshop space, she is taking material home to get better at the craft. It feels great to see actors taking interest in things beyond what the film requires.”
Adds producer Maneesh Sharma: “For the female part, we wanted someone who could effortlessly transform herself into a character who is intelligent, strong and expressive even in her silence.
