Anushka has an em­broi­dered job!

Af­ter her much-talked­about wed­ding – with In­dia cap­tain, Vi­rat Kohli – last year, Anushka Sharma is of­fi­cially back to work. And the first film that she has started with is Sharat Katariya’s Sui Dhaaga that will see her team up with Varun Dhawan for the first time.

We have come to know – be­sides get­ting hold of an ex­clu­sive pic­ture – that Anushka has started prep­ping for the film with “ex­ten­sive work­shops to learn the craft of em­broi­dery”. “Yes, in her new film, she will be seen trans­form­ing her­self to play the role of a self-re­liant em­broi­derer and for that, she has al­ready started work­shops to per­fect her char­ac­ter be­fore she starts film­ing,” says an in­sider.

While Anushka couldn’t be reached for a com­ment, Sharat says he was sur­prised to see “how quickly Anushka picked up the craft of em­broi­dery”. The di­rec­tor, known for helm­ing Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), says: “When I saw stuff she has em­broi­dered, I thought some­one has helped her. Later I found out that her prepa­ra­tion is not just lim­ited to the work­shop space, she is tak­ing ma­te­rial home to get bet­ter at the craft. It feels great to see ac­tors tak­ing in­ter­est in things be­yond what the film re­quires.”

Adds pro­ducer Ma­neesh Sharma: “For the fe­male part, we wanted some­one who could ef­fort­lessly trans­form her­self into a char­ac­ter who is in­tel­li­gent, strong and ex­pres­sive even in her si­lence.
