Ever since Sonam Kapoor made her acting debut in Bollywood with the 2007 film, Saawariya, she and her father, acclaimed actor Anil Kapoor, have been asked one question repeatedly: When will you two work together?

Now, as the duo is finally teaming up in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s next production, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga, Sonam is visibly kicked about it, but “can’t discuss anything about the film” since she has signed an NDA (non disclosure agreement). “I can tell you that I have started shooting for it and I’m very excited about working with my father and to do such a film,” she says.

The actor has also worked with her sister, producer Rhea [Kapoor], on Aisha (2010), Khoobsoorat (2014) and on one of her upcoming films.

Dad Anil has joked many a time about Sonam not being ready to share screen space with him. To that, his daughter dearest says, “I don’t know whether I am ready even now or not but this film needed my father. That is the maximum I can say about it.”

Comparing their filmography, one can say that Anil has mastered the art of commercial Bollywood potboilers, but Sonam hasn’t been part of many such films. “I enjoy them, but if I’ve to do a film that is only commercially relevant, then I’d rather work with Sooraj Barjatya,” says Sonam about her Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) director. “Women are not flowerpots and decorations in his films but extremely relevant [to the story],” she adds.
