Bol­ly­wood star Anil Kapoor has voiced his sup­port for the #Metoo move­ment, which is gain­ing mo­men­tum across the coun­try.

Speak­ing on the side­lines of an event in Lud­hi­ana, the ac­tor said that it is a pos­i­tive de­vel­op­ment that women are speak­ing out against sex­ual ha­rass­ment.

“#Metoo move­ment is a good thing. Many women are speak­ing out against the ha­rass­ment. While so­ci­ety main­tains that boys and girls are equal, I have al­ways given pref­er­ence to my daugh­ter over my son,” said Kapoor.

While in town, Kapoor also rel­ished some lo­cal cui­sine,“the mo­ment I landed in Lud­hi­ana, I or­dered for kali dal and some pa­neer dish as the city is known for its cui­sine. I am a non-veg­e­tar­ian but due to Navra­tri, I will miss the non-veg­e­tar­ian

He cred­ited Pun­jabi food for his ex­u­ber­ant per­son­al­ity and fit­ness.

He also re­called the movie “Woh Saat Din” in which he played the lead role of a Pun­jabi char­ac­ter. “I keep try­ing to project my Pun­jabi con­nec­tion in the movie. My last movie was Mubarakan wherein I played the role of a sar­dar,” said Kapoor.

‘STATE CM SHOULD BE LIKE NAYAK’

Re­call­ing his movie Nayak, wherein he played the role of a chief min­is­ter, Kapoor said that the chief min­is­ter of a state should be like that char­ac­ter.

“Nayak is a mem­o­rable movie. Even to­day, peo­ple praise my role in the movie. The state should have a chief min­is­ter like the one por­trayed in the movie,” said Kapoor.
