Your or­gan­i­sa­tion’s most em­ploy­eefriendly pol­icy?

It is dif­fi­cult to sin­gle one pol­icy and call it the best. How­ever, let me men­tion a few. We have Udaan - an ini­tia­tive to iden­tify high-po­ten­tial in­di­vid­u­als and cre­ate a sec­ond line of lead­ers. Then we have a her­itage pol­icy where ev­ery em­ployee who com­pletes five years of ser­vice earns the mem­ber­ship of our her­itage club and en­joys priv­i­leges like hol­i­day pack­ages, com­pany ve­hi­cle etc

What’s the most unique thing about your ap­praisal sys­tem?

Ev­ery new re­cruit is given a goal sheet within 15 days. This sets clar­ity on ex­pec­ta­tions. Two ap­praisal cy­cles (mid and an­nual) are con­ducted to keep em­ploy­ees in­formed about their per­for­mance and coun­sel non-per­form­ers. The time­line for per­for­mance plan­ning and per­for­mance eval­u­a­tion is set at the be­gin­ing of the year and the per­for­mance man­age­ment sys­tem is au­to­mated

Your com­pany’s mis­sion and vi­sion state­ment?

We want to be­come the most pre­ferred global fi­nan­cial ser­vices or­gan­i­sa­tion en­abling wealth cre­ation for all cus­tomers

How does it fit in with em­ployee ex­pec­ta­tions?

Our em­ploy­ees take pride in cre­at­ing wealth for clients by giv­ing them right ad­vise that is backed by strong re­search Sudhir Dhar com­mands over 20 years of work ex­pe­ri­ence within the tech­ni­cal and hu­man re­source do­mains. He has worked at var­i­ous in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy and non-bank­ing fi­nan­cial com­pa­nies.

Other CSR ac­tiv­i­ties?

We or­gan­ise var­i­ous CSR ac­tiv­i­ties like blood do­na­tion camps, marathons for fund rais­ing (for the ben­e­fit of NGO’s) and vis­its to old age homes

Does your com­pany use so­cial me­dia for re­cruit­ment? Do you also check a can­di­date’s on­line so­cial me­dia pro­file be­fore the hire?

We use so­cial me­dia for re­cruit­ment and check the pro­files of prospec­tive em­ploy­ees to un­der­stand their so­cial con­di­tion­ing and con­tri­bu­tions by ob­serv­ing their wall posts and up­loads

Your thoughts on in­ter­nal ro­ta­tion of new hires to help them de­cide where they fit best?

This prac­tice works best for man­age­ment trainees. I feel that they should work across busi­ness ver­ti­cals so that they can iden­tify their nat­u­ral fit

What or­gan­i­sa­tional val­ues would you show off to at­tract new tal­ent?

We place a pre­mium on in­tegrity over ev­ery­thing else. This means that we hon­our com­mit­ment and do our work by in­cor­po­rat­ing the high­est eth­i­cal stan­dards. We en­dorse team work and col­lab­o­ra­tion and wel­come peo­ple with a can do at­ti­tude and en­tre­pre­neur­ial spirit

How many women do you em­ploy?

We don’t have any pre­de­fined num­bers in terms of re­cruit­ing women em­ploy­ees. We re­cruit on the ba­sis of merit and suit­abil­ity

Is your or­gan­i­sa­tion woman-friendly? What are the spe­cial fa­cil­i­ties pro­vided to them?

We are a woman friendly or­gan­i­sa­tion and en­sure their safety at all times

How does the or­gan­i­sa­tion en­sure their safety dur­ing late-night com­mutes, etc?

We don’t have evening or night shifts for em­ploy­ees

What re­ward sys­tem do you have in place for em­ploy­ees who are tal­ented or the best per­form­ers?

Our re­ward sys­tem is driven by our value of mer­i­toc­racy. Per­for­mance gets dif­fer­en­ti­ated, recog­nised and re­warded in an apo­lit­i­cal en­vi­ron­ment. We have monthly best per­for­mance awards, quar­terly best per­for­mance and yearly best as­so­ci­ates for the year. We make sure that ef­forts are ap­pro­pri­ately recog­nised and re­sults are re­warded
