De­cem­ber 20: A leop­ard was res­cued from Ri­hod vil­lage in Bar­wala block. It had at­tacked four vil­lagers and in­jured them. Af­ter it was beaten by vil­lagers, the wildlife of­fi­cials took it to Chat­bir zoo. It died on De­cem­ber 24 due to shock. De­cem­ber 23: A fe­male cub was found dead at Bho­rian vil­lage of Pin­jore block. It died of pneu­mo­nia. De­cem­ber 24: An­other fe­male cub was found dead at the same vil­lage. Post-mortem re­vealed that it died of pneu­mo­nia.

As the pop­u­la­tion of leop­ards is in­creas­ing in forests, weak an­i­mals have to leave the area in case of con­flict. Wild cats, even­tu­ally, stray into ur­ban ar­eas
