Clash of titans — World Cup 2011 semi-final

Hindustan Times (Chandigarh) - Live - - EDUCATION -

The ICC World Cup semi-final encounter between India and Pakistan at the PCA stadium was unarguably the mother of all cricket clashes. However, it was not cricket all the way. Tricity folks welcomed visitors from across the border with arms wide open and bonhomie was the order of the day. The festive spirit was not limited to the people as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani came down to watch the match together. The best

part of the night was when India thumped home with a victory. The people came out on to the streets in hoards and the celebrations continued till daybreak.
