RTE Act comes into force
Haryana Free and Compulsory Education Act came into force on June 3. The act makes it mandatory that private schools reserve 25% seats for children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups. If eligible, children cannot be screened before joining the school and trained teachers have to be provided for their education that is free. The Act also ensures that no neighbourhood schools deny admission to children between the age of 6 and 14 years.
