Lovnish, Neeraj guide LWCC to mas­sive win

■ CHANDI­GARH: Livewire Coach­ing Cen­tre Ju­niors (LWCC) de­feated Govern­ment Model Se­nior Sec­ondary School, Sec­tor 16, by 111 runs in the in­au­gu­ral match of the Drug Free City Cricket Cup at Divya Pub­lic School here on Fri­day.

Bat­ting first, LWCC man­aged to put up a com­pet­i­tive tar­get of 173 runs for the loss of seven wick­ets in 20 overs. Lovnish Sharma was the top scorer for the team with 38 runs. He was ably sup­ported by Neeraj (37) and In­der­preet (28). Late in the in­nings, Ab­hishek added a valu­able 24 runs to the to­tal.

For GMSSS-16, Raghav was the pick of the bowlers. He snared three wick­ets for 28 runs, while Ab­hay claimed two wick­ets for 43 runs. Chas­ing the tar­get, GMSSS-16 was all out for 62 runs in 15.3 overs. Raghav shined with the bat too, mak­ing 22 runs, while Harsh added 18. Manoj claimed two wick­ets for three runs for the win­ners, while Aman Jaggi scalped two wick­ets for eight runs.

Neeraj, who made 37 runs, also took three catches and did one stump­ing, and was ad­judged man of the match.
