Interceptors are not enough

Hindustan Times (Chandigarh) - Live - - OPINION/EDUCATION - Kulbhushan Kanwar,

For road safety Chandigarh police is equipped with Interceptors consisting of handy cam, a falcon speed radar, alco-sensor, Flashers to warn motorists and so many other equipments but these seem to be less to coup with the number of vehicles running on the roads. The police is trying its best to spread awareness to reduce road accidents, side-by-side we as an individual should follow the rules and regulations of road safety strictly. Police page on facebook has helped in road safety but suddenly loosing its popularity. Police should check why it is so. Police should ensure that all the CCTV cameras are in order and deploy more. People should select proper lane and give way to slip road user. Traffic police should concentrate more on monitoring traffic rather then on challaning.
