■ CHANDI­GARH: City mayor Raj Bala Ma­lik on Mon­day warned the con­trac­tors of paid park­ing lots to im­ple­ment the guide­lines strictly, else face ac­tion.

She told the con­trac­tors to keep op­ti­mum space at the en­try and exit points of their re­spec­tive park­ing lots for easy move­ment of the ve­hi­cles. She also checked park­ing lots of Sec­tor 35-B and C, Sec­tor 34 Zone 1, etc. along with Av­tar Singh, sub-di­vi­sional en­gi­neer, MC head­quar­ters, and oth­ers.

Dur­ing a check at a Sec­tor34 park­ing lot, a park­ing at­ten­dant was found miss­ing while an­other was not wear­ing uni­form.

She in­structed Av­tar Singh to up­date and main­tain the dis­play boards of the park­ing ar­eas. She stressed on dis­play­ing the names and con­tact num­bers of the of­fi­cers con­cerned on the boards.

She said the mu­nic­i­pal cor­po­ra­tion would soon moot a pro­posal to tie up with var­i­ous ra­dio sta­tions for spread­ing aware­ness on park­ing prob­lems.
