Another person killed in mishap on NH-73
■ PANCHKULA: A day after two persons were killed in a mishap on NH-73, another incident was reported on Monday morning in which a 62-year-old man lost his life.
Laja Ram of Chabutro village in Yamunanagar and an employee of DLF was on way to the office on his motorcycle when an Innova car allegedly knocked him down in a head on collision near Moginand village around 9.45am killing him on the spot.
The body of the deceased was shifted to a mortuary in the Sector 6 General Hospital, said police, adding that they had impounded the Innova from the spot that was left behind by the driver who flee from the spot following the incident.
“We have registered the case under Section 304 A and Section 279 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), said SHO of Chandimandir police station sub-inspector Surinder Singh.
The driver of the vehicle is still at large, but SHO of Chandimandir police station sub-inspector Surinder Singh raised hope that the driver, who was living in a rented accommodation at Mullanpur in SAS Nagar, would be arrested soon.
Two relatives were killed at Naggal village near Barwala on National Highway 73 after the motorcycle they were riding on collided head on with a Swift car. The driver of the car also fled from the spot leaving the car behind. He was yet to be arrested in the case.
