■ SAS NAGAR: Some residents returned disappointed from polling stations, as they were unable to find their names on the electoral list. In many cases, names got omitted as these persons failed to get their residential addresses changed with the deputy commissioner's (DC) office.

Rajpal Singh, resident of Phase 3, could not find his pname on the list because of which he could not cast vote despite having a voter card. Similarly, Gurcharan Singh, who had moved to Phase 2, could not get his address changed with the DC office. He claimed to have taken up the issue with the returning officer who had assured him that he could cast the vote. But, he was not allowed to do the same when he reached the polling booth at Phase 2 on Monday.

Besides, there were many others who could not cast their votes as their names were deleted from the list.
