Ar­man’s fifty guides Step­ping Stones to easy win

■ CHANDI­GARH: Step­ping Stones Cricket Academy de­feated hosts Vivek High School by 17 runs in the Sar­dar Bhag­want Singh Me­mo­rial Cricket Tour­na­ment be­ing held on school premises in Sec­tor 38 here on Mon­day.

Bat­ting first, Step­ping Stones Cricket Academy man­aged to put up a healthy to­tal of 137 runs for the loss of five wick­ets in 20 overs.

Ar­man was the top scorer with 60 runs, while An­gad Cha­hal scored 25 runs.

An­had was the pick of the bowlers for Vivek High School. He scalped two wick­ets for 18 runs, while An­gad Khera took two wick­ets for 21 runs.

Chas­ing the tar­get, Vivek High were all out for 120 runs in 19.2 overs. Na­vansh made 35 runs, while Ansh Chugh scored 25 runs.

Naveen was the pick of the bowlers for the win­ners. He took three wick­ets for 23 runs, while man of the match Ar­man claimed two wick­ets for 24 runs. Bhanoo also took two wick­ets for 23 runs.

In to­day’s match, the cricket academy of Gov­ern­ment Model Se­nior Sec­ondary School35 will face Step­ping Stones Cricket Academy.
