CHANDI­GARH: Pan­jab Univer­sity has de­barred the pa­per set­ter of In­dian po­lit­i­cal sys­tem of MA po­lit­i­cal sci­ence sec­ond se­mes­ter, fol­low­ing the com­plaint lodged by stu­dents tak­ing the test on May 28 that the pa­per was con­sisted of MA-II an­nual sys­tem 'lo­cal self gov­ern­ment'.

The decision at a meet­ing of post­grad­u­ate board of stud­ies of po­lit­i­cal sci­ence, which was chaired by Deepak Kumar Singh, chair­man depart­ment of po­lit­i­cal sci­ence, Pan­jab Univer­sity.

The board unan­i­mously de­cided to de­bar the ques­tion set­ter, a pro­fes­sor of Jawa­har­lal Nehru Univer­sity (JNU), from any ex­am­i­na­tion re­lated work. The board also de­cided to resched­ule the pa­per be­fore June 6.

The stu­dents had brought the er­rors to the no­tice of the in­vig­i­la­tor, fol­low­ing which the of­fi­cials of col­leges con­tacted the con­troller of ex­am­i­na­tion.

This was the third in­ci­dent in last one week in which the ques­tion pa­pers were found out of syl­labus and not as per the pat­tern.

On May 24, the stu­dents of sec­ond se­mes­ter of foren­sic sci­ences were made to suf­fer af­ter the pa­per of fun­da­men­tal of foren­sic phys­i­cal sci­ence con­ducted by Pan­jab Univer­sity was out of syl­labus.

The ques­tion pa­per had all the five ques­tions from syl­labus of first se­mes­ter.

Ear­lier, on May 17 the pa­per of fun­da­men­tal of foren­sic sci­ences gen­er­ated a lot of con­fu­sion among the stu­dents as the pa­per was out of syl­labus and not as per the pat­tern.
