‘Need to engage students in faculty development’
SAS NAGAR: A seven-day faculty development programme on advances in materials and manufacturing technology kicked off at Shaheed Udham Singh College of Engineering and Technology at Tangori near here on Tuesday.
JS Dhaliwal, chancellor of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, inaugurated the programme, which is sponsored by Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.
In his keynote address, Dhaliwal advised the inauguration committee that these programmes should not to be limited to faculty members, but students should also participate in this programme, so that the gap between the teacher and student should be properly filled.
In his lecture, DS Hira, vicechancellor of Guru Kashi University, stressed upon the need of the faculty development programmes, so that they should become role model for future generation. FANCY DRESS CONTEST HELD AT SHIVALIK
An inter-section fancy dress competition of Class 1 was organised at Shivalik Public School, Phase 6, here. In which the students came dressed up as Bhagat Singh, Pratibha Patil, Mother Teresa, Laxhmi Bai, Mahatma Gandhi. Some were dressed up to convey messages like 'save mother earth', 'save the girl child' and 'save water'.
