En­vi­ron­ment Day cel­e­brated

SAS NA­GAR: En­vi­ron­ment Day was cel­e­brated at Gian Jy­oti Public School, with an aim to make stu­dents sen­si­tive to­wards en­vi­ron­men­tal com­pli­ca­tions. Around 100 stu­dents of class 10 took out a cy­cle rally, car­ry­ing plac­ards and posters and rais­ing slo­gans to spread aware­ness. The stu­dents and teach­ers planted medic­i­nal saplings on the school premises. Stu­dents were urged to shun poly bag us­age. Sim­i­larly, En­vi­ron­ment Day was ob­served at Ya­davin­dra Public School, SAS Na­gar, on Wed­nes­day, which was the last work­ing day be­fore the sum­mer va­ca­tions. A spe­cial morn­ing assem­bly was held where the staff and stu­dents took an en­vi­ron­men­tal pledge. The school choir sang a spe­cial song on na­ture. Prin­ci­pal Jana­jit Ray, in his ad­dress em­pha­sised on mak­ing ef­forts to pro­tect the en­vi­ron­ment. The prin­ci­pal in­au­gu­rated the new en­vi­ron­ment friendly jog­ging track.
