Youth acquitted of rape charges
PANCHKULA: The court of sessions judge Anita Chaudhary on Wednesday acquitted 21year-old Surinder Kumar of rape charges.
He was accused of raping a ‘minor’ girl.
The girl had alleged that when she came out of her maternal uncle’s house in Kalka on the intervening night of October 4 and October 5, Surinder abducted him by forcing her to inhale some intoxicant. Later, he allegedly raped her.
After the crime, as per the allegations, he threatened her to marry him otherwise he would defame her.
The girl was recovered from Gurgaon where both were staying in a rented accommodation.
A case under sections 376 (rape), 366 (kidnapping) and 366 (compelling woman to marry) was registered against Surinder.
Advocate Kamal Joshi, who appeared for Surinder, said, “We have proved that the girl went with my client on her consent. The witnesses supported our case and my client has been acquitted of the rape charge.”
