Intl Youth Peace Festival begins
CHANDIGARH: The International Youth Peace Festival began on Friday at Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College ( GGDSD) here.
The first day of the festival started with an inaugural address by Swami Anupama Anand of the Rama Krishna Mission Ashram at GGD SD College.
The first half of the day was reserved for Punjabi experience for international guests.
S i x g i rl s a n d b oy s from China, Afghanistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka, dressed as brides and bridegrooms, along with 100 other international guests, reached Sarangpur where they were received by the gram panchayat.
Later, as a wedding procession they took a round of the village and enjoyed bhangra dancing, sarson ka saag and makki ki roti.
Punjab and Haryana High Court justice Rajesh Bindal; commissioner, customs and central excise Anil Gupta; and director, department of science and technology, UT, Santosh Kumar were also present on the occasion.
