Uniden­ti­fied woman run over by train CHANDI­GARH: A 22-year-old uniden­ti­fied woman was run over by the Su­per­fast In­ter­city Ex­press while she was cross­ing the rail­way line near Sec­tor 47 here on Fri­day morn­ing. The rail­way of­fi­cials have sent the body to the gen­eral hospi­tal for a post-mortem ex­am­i­na­tion. The po­lice are yet to as­cer­tain the iden­tity of the woman and ef­forts are on to track her fam­ily. Mayor launches anti-ra­bies vac­cine at sub­sidised rates CHANDI­GARH: Mayor Raj Bala Ma­lik on Fri­day launched anti-ra­bies vac­cine at sub­sidised rates for dog-bite vic­tims at the civil dis­pen­sary of Sec­tor 19-A. A spe­cial pro­gramme was or­gan­ised at the dis­pen­sary in this re­gard wherein dog-bite vic­tims were of­fered flow­ers and juice by the mayor and com­mis­sioner. The mayor said ac­cord­ing to the de­ci­sion taken in the gen­eral house meet­ing, the mu­nic­i­pal cor­po­ra­tion would give 80% sub­sidy to dog-bite vic­tims and rest 20% vac­ci­na­tion charges would be borne by the vic­tims. Med­i­cal of­fi­cer of health BK Sal­wan in­formed that the tim­ings of vac­ci­na­tion would be 8am to 1pm dur­ing sum­mer and 9am to 2pm dur­ing win­ter. 20 con­demned buses auc­tioned CHANDI­GARH: In the sec­ond round of the open auc­tion on Fri­day, the auc­tion com­mit­tee con­sti­tuted by the Chandi­garh ad­min­is­tra­tion auc­tioned 20 con­demned buses of de­pot no. 3. These buses were 2000-2001 mod­els and had lived their life. The auc­tion fetched Rs 4,596,500. With the auc­tion of these buses, a large amount of space that was oc­cu­pied by the con­demned buses has been cleared. Auc­tion was held in a trans­par­ent man­ner and pro­ceed­ings were recorded.
