TRADER GETS 5-YR RI FOR ABETMENT TO SUICIDE
AMBALA: Additional district and sessions judge RC Dimri on Saturday awarded five years’ rigorous imprisonment to a businessman, who was also treasurer of a local school, for abetment to suicide of its woman principal.
Rajni, principal of Radha Lal Vidya Mandir school in Ambala city, had committed suicide on March 7, 2007, by jumping before a train.
A suicide note recovered after her death had blamed a businessman Vinod Kumar, who was also school treasurer, for her extreme step as he constantly harassed her. The victim also said that she was forced to resign and was under great mental tension due to his behaviour. After her husband Rajinder Kumar lodged a police complaint, Vinod was booked under Section 306 of IPC.
The counsel for the complainant said that 16 witnesses were examined during the trial.
