Muktsar shooters dominate...
CHANDIGARH: The female shooters from Mukstar dominated day three of the 48th Punjab State Shooting Championship, being organised at PRSA Range, Sector 56, in SAS Nagar on Saturday. Besides making a clean sweep in three events, Mukstar girls also won two of the top three positions in three other categories.
In the Rifle Prone women (NR) category, Mukstar’s Pawandeep Kaur claimed the first place by shooting 527 out of 600 points. Kiranjit Kaur and Charanjeet from the same district won the second and third place by collecting 520 and 518 points, respectively.
In the junior category of the same event, Jaspreet Kaur, Simranjeet Kaur and Gurmeet Kaur, all from Mukstar, won the first, second and third position, respectively. While Jaspreet shot 556 pts, Simranjeet and Gurmeet claimed 525 and 518 pts.
The third event where Mukstar shooters displayed a thorough authority was the Rifle 3-Position women (NR) competition. Jaspreet won the top spot with 509 pts. Babbandeep collected 497 pts, while Sofia Hayer scored 484 pts to win the second and third place, respectively.
In the women’s Pistol (NR) event, Mukstar’s Gurpreet Kaur and Ramandeep scored 266 and 225 pts (out of 400) to claim the first and third spot, respectively. Priya of Ludhiana won the second place with 259 points.
In the junior category of the same event, Ramandeep won the first place with 256 pts.
She was followed by Gurshagun Mehak (244) and Sandeep Kaur (244) at the second and third place, respectively. Other results: Women’s event: sports rifle prone (ISSF): 1.
