CHANDI­GARH: The fe­male shoot­ers from Muk­star dom­i­nated day three of the 48th Pun­jab State Shoot­ing Cham­pi­onship, be­ing or­gan­ised at PRSA Range, Sec­tor 56, in SAS Na­gar on Satur­day. Be­sides mak­ing a clean sweep in three events, Muk­star girls also won two of the top three po­si­tions in three other cat­e­gories.

In the Ri­fle Prone women (NR) cat­e­gory, Muk­star’s Pawan­deep Kaur claimed the first place by shoot­ing 527 out of 600 points. Ki­ran­jit Kaur and Cha­ran­jeet from the same dis­trict won the sec­ond and third place by col­lect­ing 520 and 518 points, re­spec­tively.

In the ju­nior cat­e­gory of the same event, Jaspreet Kaur, Sim­ran­jeet Kaur and Gurmeet Kaur, all from Muk­star, won the first, sec­ond and third po­si­tion, re­spec­tively. While Jaspreet shot 556 pts, Sim­ran­jeet and Gurmeet claimed 525 and 518 pts.

The third event where Muk­star shoot­ers dis­played a thor­ough author­ity was the Ri­fle 3-Po­si­tion women (NR) com­pe­ti­tion. Jaspreet won the top spot with 509 pts. Bab­ban­deep col­lected 497 pts, while Sofia Hayer scored 484 pts to win the sec­ond and third place, re­spec­tively.

In the women’s Pis­tol (NR) event, Muk­star’s Gur­preet Kaur and Ra­man­deep scored 266 and 225 pts (out of 400) to claim the first and third spot, re­spec­tively. Priya of Lud­hi­ana won the sec­ond place with 259 points.

In the ju­nior cat­e­gory of the same event, Ra­man­deep won the first place with 256 pts.

She was fol­lowed by Gur­sh­a­gun Me­hak (244) and San­deep Kaur (244) at the sec­ond and third place, re­spec­tively. Other re­sults: Women’s event: sports ri­fle prone (ISSF): 1. Ra­jwinder SinghGur­daspur (581 pts out of 600) 2. Mi­lan­preet Singh- Lud­hi­ana (577) 3. Surinder­preet SinghFate­hgarh Sahib (571); .177 peep sight air ri­fle ju­nior sec­tion (ISSF): 1.
