Sem­i­nar on waste man­age­ment held

SAS NA­GAR: A one-day sem­i­nar on ‘en­vi­ron­ment haz­ard and waste man­age­ment in phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal in­dus­tries’ was held at Small and Medium Phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal In­dus­try Cen­tre (SMPIC) on Satur­day.

While in­au­gu­rat­ing the sem­i­nar, KK Bhutani, di­rec­tor, said, “Sci­ence re­volves around E: en­ergy, en­vi­ron­ment, eco-sys­tem and e-gov­er­nance.

He said the SMPIC was play­ing a vi­tal role in the growth of phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal in­dus­try in the coun­try.

“Small and medium in­dus­tries play a crit­i­cal role in over­all health care sys­tem by pro­vid­ing af­ford­able medicines,” he said.

The sem­i­nar cov­ered top­ics like en­vi­ron­ment laws and reg­u­la­tory re­quire­ments, safety man­age­ment, dis­as­ter man­age­ment, fire fight­ing, waste man­age­ment and treat­ment tech­nolo­gies in phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal in­dus­tries, air/wa­ter pol­lu­tion and waste man­age­ment.
