Kang sec­ond in Bhutan Open Golf Cham­pi­onship 2012

CHANDI­GARH: City golfer HS Kang fin­ished sec­ond in the in­di­vid­ual cat­e­gory of the re­cently held Bhutan Am­a­teur Open Golf Cham­pi­onship. The keenly con­tested event saw a to­tal of 60 play­ers vy­ing for top hon­ours. Kang lost to M Du­lal Hos­sain of Bangladesh by a mar­gin of one stroke. Hos­sain fin­ished with a to­tal gross score of 293.

Mean­while, in the team event played over two days, Bangladesh won with the to­tal gross score of 282, while hosts Bhutan fin­ished run­ners-up with 295 points.

In­dia, who had sent a team for the first time for this tour­na­ment, fin­ished third. The team com­prised of Kang and Raghav Wahi. The team event was played on the ba­sis of the gross stroke for­mat, with two best cards count­ing each day.
