Symposium on architecture held
CHANDIGARH: Eminent professionals from diverse realms participated in the symposium on architecture, science and art at the annual oration-2012 at the PHD Chamber on Friday. The symposium was organised by the First Friday Forum, a leading organisation engaged in educational and socio-cultural projects in the Tricity.
Founder-cum-president of the forum and acclaimed litterateur scholar academician SS Bhatti, who was also the former principal of Chandigarh College of Architecture delivered the theme-based oration titled Architecture, Science, and Art.
Through illustrated analysis supported by apt historical examples he elucidated on how science and art cause and support each other’s growth to enable Architecture to realise it’s potential as Civilization’.

Gujral Science City, Kapurthala, referred science city as ‘An Architect’s Paradise’. He lauded Bhatti’s role in educating the citizenry about aesthetic appreciation vis-à-vis artistic creation in the many forms of art. Earlier, Desh Ranjan Sharma, artist, elaborated on how art infuses vibrant vitality into science and architecture and gives expression to our innate urges for celebrating life.
Six professionals were honoured with First Friday Forum Awards for creative excellence and noteworthy contributions in their respective fields. Emotional hues seeped in as Rita Bhatti presented Forum’s newly instituted Jaspal Bhatti Memorial award to noted TV film actor and director, Savita Bhatti.
