Sharry Maan forces the city to shake a leg

CHANDIGARH: Despite the IndoPak T-20 match and chilly weather, the music lovers thronged the Plaza before the virtuoso Punjabi pop icon and star-performer, Sharry Maan, took the centre to mesmerise the intrusive crowd at the musical evening on Friday. The event was organised by the Chandigarh Tourism and CITCO as apart of the New Year Extravaganza.
Commencing the programme with a popular song “Bebe teri aatte di chidi” Maan presented many hits, including ‘Chandigarh Da Chaska’, ‘Yaari Da Vasta’, ‘Suhe Bull’ and ‘College Wali GT Road’. However, ‘Yaar Anmulle’, which introduced Sharry Maan’s genius was an instant hit among the audience. Maan’s gave credit to his lyricist and college mate at Chandigarh Engineering College, Akashdeep, and Canada-based music composer, Saravpreet, for the song’s popularity. Major musical evenings scheduled for December 30 include performance by Sufi Singer, Manak Ali, and a ‘fashion fiesta nite’ and a DJ-evening from 6 pm to 8 pm on December 31st.
