Sharry Maan forces the city to shake a leg

CHANDIGARH: De­spite the In­doPak T-20 match and chilly weather, the mu­sic lovers thronged the Plaza be­fore the vir­tu­oso Pun­jabi pop icon and star-per­former, Sharry Maan, took the cen­tre to mes­merise the in­tru­sive crowd at the mu­si­cal evening on Fri­day. The event was or­gan­ised by the Chandigarh Tourism and CITCO as apart of the New Year Ex­trav­a­ganza.

Com­menc­ing the pro­gramme with a pop­u­lar song “Bebe teri aatte di chidi” Maan pre­sented many hits, in­clud­ing ‘Chandigarh Da Chaska’, ‘Yaari Da Vasta’, ‘Suhe Bull’ and ‘Col­lege Wali GT Road’. How­ever, ‘Yaar An­mulle’, which in­tro­duced Sharry Maan’s ge­nius was an in­stant hit among the au­di­ence. Maan’s gave credit to his lyri­cist and col­lege mate at Chandigarh En­gi­neer­ing Col­lege, Akashdeep, and Canada-based mu­sic com­poser, Sar­avpreet, for the song’s pop­u­lar­ity. Ma­jor mu­si­cal evenings sched­uled for De­cem­ber 30 in­clude per­for­mance by Sufi Singer, Manak Ali, and a ‘fash­ion fi­esta nite’ and a DJ-evening from 6 pm to 8 pm on De­cem­ber 31st.
