2 stabbed over money

CHANDIGARH: Two peo­ple were al­legedly beaten up and stabbed by a group

of mis­cre­ants in Chandigarh on Satur­day. The vic­tims have been iden­ti­fied as Vi­jay and Deepak, res­i­dents of Maloya Colony. They were stabbed in stom­ach and head.

Giv­ing de­tails of the in­ci­dent, SHO, Sec­tor 39 po­lice sta­tion, in­spec­tor Cha­ran­jit Singh Virk said the sus­pects have been iden­ti­fied as Kha­jju, Bittu, Dana and Kala.

The vic­tims and the sus­pects are friends and re­port­edly drug ad­dicts. Deepak had taken Rs 500 from Kha­jju and was not re­turn­ing the money. The sus­pects en­tered into a heated con­fronta­tion with the vic­tims near Sant Ni­rankari Bhawan, Maloya, and it turned into a scuf­fle. The ac­cused stabbed the two and fled the spot.

The po­lice were in­formed and the vic­tims were rushed to Government Multi-Spe­cialty Hospi­tal, Sec­tor 16. The po­lice con­ducted raids at the pos­si­ble hide­outs of the sus­pects, but failed to make any ar­rest.

Act­ing on a com­plaint, a case un­der Sec­tions 147, 148, 149, 307, 324 and 506

of the In­dian Pe­nal Code (IPC) has been reg­is­tered in the Sec­tor 39 po­lice sta­tion.
