Jewellery, cash stolen at wedding
GOLD WORTH R80,000 STOLEN DURING WEDDING THAT TOOK PLACE ON DECEMBER 8; FOURTH SUCH INCIDENT REPORTED IN THE PAST TWO MONTHS
SAS NAGAR: After 20 days of the incident, Rishipal Singh, a Kaithal resident, filed a complaint against unidentified people while alleging theft of a bag containing gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 86,000 from the wedding ceremony of his son.
In his complaint to the police, Singh said that the theft transpired during the marriage of his son, Mohit Singh, on December 8 at the Community Centre in Phase 2, SAS Nagar.
The police after registering the case are now scanning the video footage of the marriage ceremony.
This is the fourth incident in last two months, where miscreants have decamped from a ceremony with bag containing ‘Shagun’. On October 31, during a marriage ceremony at Alishan palace, which is few meters away from Police Station, Phase 1, a bag containing Rs 1.5 lakh was stolen.
In another incident that was reported on November 1, a bag containing Rs 90,000 went missing from a house in Phase 3A during the ring ceremony.
Also on November 8, a case of theft of jewellery and cash amounting to Rs 5 lakhs from the marriage venue, community centre, Phase 2, SAS Nagar, was reported.
