Jew­ellery, cash stolen at wed­ding

GOLD WORTH R80,000 STOLEN DUR­ING WED­DING THAT TOOK PLACE ON DE­CEM­BER 8; FOURTH SUCH IN­CI­DENT RE­PORTED IN THE PAST TWO MONTHS

SAS NA­GAR: Af­ter 20 days of the in­ci­dent, Ri­shipal Singh, a Kaithal res­i­dent, filed a com­plaint against uniden­ti­fied peo­ple while al­leg­ing theft of a bag con­tain­ing gold or­na­ments and cash worth Rs 86,000 from the wed­ding cer­e­mony of his son.

In his com­plaint to the po­lice, Singh said that the theft tran­spired dur­ing the mar­riage of his son, Mo­hit Singh, on De­cem­ber 8 at the Com­mu­nity Cen­tre in Phase 2, SAS Na­gar.

The po­lice af­ter reg­is­ter­ing the case are now scan­ning the video footage of the mar­riage cer­e­mony.

This is the fourth in­ci­dent in last two months, where mis­cre­ants have de­camped from a cer­e­mony with bag con­tain­ing ‘Sh­a­gun’. On Oc­to­ber 31, dur­ing a mar­riage cer­e­mony at Alis­han palace, which is few me­ters away from Po­lice Sta­tion, Phase 1, a bag con­tain­ing Rs 1.5 lakh was stolen.

In an­other in­ci­dent that was re­ported on Novem­ber 1, a bag con­tain­ing Rs 90,000 went miss­ing from a house in Phase 3A dur­ing the ring cer­e­mony.

Also on Novem­ber 8, a case of theft of jew­ellery and cash amount­ing to Rs 5 lakhs from the mar­riage venue, com­mu­nity cen­tre, Phase 2, SAS Na­gar, was re­ported.
