CHANDIGARH: Rituparna Das of West Ben­gal capped her suc­cess­ful run by clinch­ing twin ti­tles in the 22nd Smt Kr­ishna Khai­tan All-In­dia Ju­nior Rank­ing Bad­minton Cham­pi­onship at Pan­jab Univer­sity on Satur­day.

Das de­feated Mad­hya Pradesh’s Shriyan­shi Pardeshi, 21-9, 21-9, for the un­der-17 girls’ sin­gles crown. In the un­der-19 sin­gles fi­nal, Das again crossed swords with Pardeshi to emerge victorious, 21-6, 21-13.

In the boys’ un­der-17 fi­nal, Kaushal Dhar­mamer of Ma­ha­rash­tra was crowned cham­pion af­ter he got the bet­ter of Kar­nataka’s Daniel Farid S, 21-17, 21-12.

In the cor­re­spond­ing un­der-19 sec­tion, Arun Ge­orge of Ker­ala ousted Shlok Ram­chan­dran of Ma­ha­rash­tra, 23-21, 21-18.

In the dou­bles sec­tion, Sanyam Shukla of Ch­hat­tis­garh was the player of the day as he bagged three ti­tles. His dream run started with the boys’ un­der-17 crown. Shukla teamed up with Sau­rabh Sharma of Haryana to de­feat the pair of Vigh­nesh Devlekar (Ma­ha­rash­tra) and Gan­gad­hara Rao V (Andhra Pradesh), 21-15, 16-21, 21-13, in the fi­nal. Shukla, along with Gopi Raju G of Air In­dia, also an­nexed the un­der-19 ti­tle; the pair de­feated Shyam Prasad (Ker­ala) and Shlok Ram­chan­dran (Ma­ha­rash­tra), 21-19, 21-18.

The Ch­hat­tis­garh-lad then made it three-in-three by win­ning the un­der-19 mixed dou­bles tro­phy. He, along with Meghana J (Andhra Pradesh) beat Gopi Raju G (Air In­dia) and Poorvisha S Ram (Kar­nataka), 21-13, 21-15.

In the un­der-17 girls’ dou­bles fi­nal, the Andhra Pradesh team com­pris­ing Sudha Kalyani D and Ar­chana M ended the chal­lenge of Sruthi KP and Farha Mather (both from Ker­ala), 21-18, 21-17.

In the cor­re­spond­ing un­der19 bracket, Meghana J (Andhra Pradesh) and Poorvisha S Ram (Kar­nataka) beat Agna Anto and Haritha MH (Ker­ala), 21-19, 21-14.
