Implement master plan
The UT administration has proposed a development plan within 50 km radius of the city so as to lessen the infrastructure load on the city due to tremendous pressure of increase in population, traffic congestion, building violation, stress on infrastructure, limited availability of land and haphazard growth of unauthorized occupant on the periphery of Mohali, Chandigarh, panchkula.
Also, the city wants to develop a Metro station with common international airport and railway station, which is already bursting at its seams. The master plan committee has proposed planned development and better connectivity between Zirakpur, Derabassi, Banur, Landran, Ramgarh, Pinjore and Kalka beside Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula and also mentioned to submit report by the administration to the Ministry of Home Affair for joint regional area. There is an immediate need to constitute joint administrative committee and joint planning commission of Union Territory Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula and declare it as special regional zone under new act to frame common rules and regulation in respect to law and order, traffic control and laws.
