Ensure citizens’ safety

Hindustan Times (Chandigarh) - Live - - OPINION/EDUCATION -

The administration must ensure safety to the citizens in general and women in particular. Before something worst happens, the administration must take required preventive measures to stop such incidents, the penal provisions and punishment must be revised and must have stronger implementations. The other serious matter concerning the city is the increasing pollution, including scientific disposal of garbage, garbage from the hospitals, hotels and slaughterhouses. The third cause of worry, which needs an immediate attention, is the traffic congestions at many points, especially during festivals. Solar and biogas must be created in the city and more rainwater harvesting projects should be established. Paid parking in the city are not working satisfactorily, it needs a focused attention. Sale of narcotics is flourishing in the city, which is big threat to the society; this aspect has to be addresses on priority. Capt Amar Jeet Kumar
