CHANDIGARH: Punjab finance minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa stressed on the need for early implementation of imposing goods and services tax for growth.

"Early implementation of goods and services tax (GST) is the key to solve most of the problems that the industry is facing. However, we need to study the world's best case studies and inculcate and adopt them in ours to make it foolproof. There is a need to build early consensus at both state and centre level to revive economic growth and boost investor confidence in India," Dhindsa said.

He was addressing the seminar on ease of internal trade 'Smoothening Internal Trade Barriers for Economic Growth' organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) at CII headquarters in Chandigarh on Friday.
