Haryana’s new DGP takes over

CHANDIGARH: Newly appointed Haryana director general of police (DGP) BS Sandhu on Friday exhorted the police personnel to maintain a friendly attitude with people, besides maintaining the law and order. He also warned the cops that strict action would be taken against those found indulging in corruption. Sandhu, who was interacting with mediapersons after assuming charge, said that emphasis would be laid on providing all facilities to the police personnel to boost their morale. Highlighting the thrust areas to be addressed in the near future, Sandhu said that emphasis would be laid on improving the law and order situation, tightening the noose on criminals, improving the traffic management system.
