Haryana among top 6 ex­port­ing states: Eco­nomic sur­vey

CHANDIGARH: Haryana is among the top six ex­port­ing states which ac­count for 75 % of to­tal ex­ports from the coun­try and has the dis­tinc­tion of be­ing the sec­ond among the states hav­ing largest in­ter­nal trade sur­plus.

This was re­vealed by the pre­bud­get eco­nomic sur­vey tabled in Par­lia­ment by Union fi­nance min­is­ter Arun Jait­ley on Mon­day. This is for the first time that the sur­vey has given state­wise breakup of ex­ports of goods and ser­vices. The five top ex­port­ing states are Ma­ha­rash­tra, Gu­jarat, Kar­nataka, Tamil Nadu and Te­lan­gana.

The sur­vey showed of the 75% ex­ports made by the six states, Haryana ac­counts for 4.9 %. The states with largest in­ter­nal trade sur­pluses are Gu­jarat, Haryana, Ma­ha­rash­tra, Odisha and Tamil Nadu. Data shows that states that ex­port the most are also the ones that im­port the most.
