The Economic Survey foresees India’s GDP to grow by 7% to 7.5% in 2018-19. The government is of the opinion that indirect tax payers will increase. The survey says that the worst is over and the Indian economy is poised to rebound to grow. It would be difficult for the government to adhere to the fiscal consolidation roadmap next year due to the impending general elections. The economic survey has focused on education, employment and agriculture. The ill effect of demonetisation and GST had affected the people and employment has come down. The FDI will have its impact on small businessmen.
