DON’T DEMEAN THE STATUS OF PARLIAMENT

-

The continuous pandemonium during the Prime Minister’s speech when he was replying to the motion of thanks on the President’s address was unprecedented. The ruckus went on for quite some time, which is not a good sign for our democracy. The opposition should always render constructive support to Parliament.

This awakening has not come all of a sudden; we owe it to Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie ‘Pad Man’. The real reason is to publicise the movie. Akshay, it may be recalled, did not utter a word when GST was levied on sanitary pads. He also chose to keep mum when people criticised the government for leaving out this item during the GST revision meeting. Our stars tend to associate with humanitarian campaigns only for publicity.
