SONIA TO HOST DINNER FOR OPPN PARTIES TODAY IN BID TO FORM ANTINDA BLOCK
NEW DELHI: United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi will host a dinner for the leaders of the opposition parties on Tuesday in a bid to bring all non-nda parties on one platform ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections. The dinner-meeting, at her residence at 10 Janpath in Delhi, comes days after the BJP crushed the CPI(M) in Tripura and formed governments in Nagaland and Meghalaya in alliance with the regional parties. Gandhi had on February 1 chaired a meeting of leaders of 17 opposition parties and called for a united front against the BJP. Tuesday’s dinner will be followed by another meeting called by NCP chief Sharad Pawar at the end of the month.
