CHANDI­GARH :A 1992-batch Haryana IPS of­fi­cer Om Prakash Singh will soon be in­ducted in the chief min­is­ter’s of­fice (CMO).

The state gov­ern­ment on Mon­day placed his ser­vices at the dis­posal of the chief sec­re­tary for fur­ther post­ing in the gov­ern­ment. Singh, cur­rently posted as ad­di­tional di­rec­tor gen­eral of po­lice (ADGP), Hu­man Rights and Lit­i­ga­tion will be the first IPS of­fi­cer to be ap­pointed as an aide of a Haryana chief min­is­ter.

Be­ing a 1992-batch IPS of­fi­cer, he will be next only to 1987 batch IAS of­fi­cer Ra­jesh Khullar who is the prin­ci­pal sec­re­tary to the chief min­is­ter (PSCM) in terms of se­nior­ity.

Be­sides Khullar, the CMO has 1997 batch IAS of­fi­cer Rakesh Gupta as ad­di­tional PSCM and 2005 batch IAS of­fi­cer Man­deep Brar as deputy PSCM. There are 11 more of­fi­cers in the rank of of­fi­cers on spe­cial duty (OSD) and ad­vis­ers in the CMO.
