BJP DOES NOT RESPECT ELDERS: CONG PRESIDENT

-

MUMBAI: After appearing in court in a defamation case, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi addressed party workers in Mumbai, attacking the BJP and the RSS.

“Veer Savarkar (BJP ideologue) was pleading with the British government with folded hands for mercy and forgiveness (for his early release from jail), while Congress workers and leaders fighting for freedom were lodged in jails for years,” he said.

Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his tall promises. “If you have observed carefully, there has been a fear in the Prime Minister’s voice because he is well aware of the reality. .. I do not need to be scared like them as I am a soldier of truth,” he said.

Gandhi said Modi did not treat his guru (Advani) with respect even at official functions. “Everybody knows who is the guru and mentor of Modi — LK Advani. But the Prime Minister doesn’t accord respect to him even at official functions... Today I feel very sad for Advani ji. The Congress party has given him more respect than Modi ji has,” he said.

BJP media cell head and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni said: “While Rahul Gandhi has been trying to advice the BJP on how to respect senior leaders, he should first of all answer his ill-treatment of their own senior leaders PV Narasimha Rao and former President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee.”
